Bivak 5 stond in het teken van het kopen van materiaal nodig voor Schotland 2010. Het doel was een bezoek aan de Ranger-shop.de in Duitsland. Hier kun je tegen leuke prijzen nieuw leger materiaal en ourdoor spullen kopen. Dat kan via de website van de Ranger-shop maar het is met kleding en rugzakken wel handig als je het eerst kan passen, en de lease auto kon wel weer wat kilometers gebruiken.
Dus op naar Noord-Duitsland boven Hamburg en vroeg uit de veren want de winkel zou open zijn tussen 9-14 uur.
De winkel viel een klein beetje tegen en het meeste van het assortiment is alleen via het magazijn te verkrijgen die in het weekend niet open is. Dus dat was wel jammer. Verder was er in de winkel genoeg te zien en er waren ook een aantal spullen flink afgeprijst. Maar het voornaamste hebben we kunnen kopen. Huib is geslaagd met een mooie rugzak voor weinig en Patrick (P1) heeft een slaapzak (nou had hij die al, want hij had er al dik 5 uur op gezeten 🙂 ).
Na het winkelen wat inkopen gaan doen voor de Bivak. Want we wilden natuurlijk graag de spulletjes uit gaan proberen. Dus wat proviant inslaan (Whisky en Sigaren) en daarna zijn we eerst wat gaan eten in het dorp. Hier hebben wij onze grootste snitzel ooit gegeten. Patrick (P2) vroeg de kok al van wat voor een varken deze stukken vlees vandaan kwamen. Heerlijk!
Na een volle maag op zoek naar de bivak plek voor de nacht. Patrick (P2) had van te voren een bos op google maps gespot en deze leek hem wel een geschikte plaats. Het bos was inderdaad heel mooi maar iets te veel volk, houthakkers en mensen met honden. Eindelijk een leuke plek gevonden werden we vergezeld door een gepensioneerde boswachter van 85 jaar. Hij vroeg ons wat wij kwamen doen in zijn bos. We hebben hem maar verteld dat we na het bakkie koffie weer op weg gingen naar Nederland.
Hij was al een keer in Nederland geweest en noemde een aantal grote plaatsen op. Op de vraag wanneer hij er was geweest zei hij, “in 43-44”. Dat hadden wij weer. Een foute duitser in het bos waar wij de bivak wilde gaan houden. Verder was het een geschikte vent en hebben we even met hem gebabbeld. Het leek ons niet raadzaam dit bos te verkiezen voor de bivak en we hebben besloten een nieuw bos langs de route terug te gaan zoeken. Dat was nog een hele klus aangezien Noord-Duitsland voornamelijk uit akker land bestaat. Veel hulp kreeg P2 ook niet want P1 en Huib vielen na de eerste kilometers in de auto al weer knikkebollend in slaap. Via de GPS maar een stuk bos aangegeven en er op hoop van zege heen gereden.
Het bleek een goed alternatief voor het foute duitser bos. Wel dicht bij de snelweg maar met hele mooie open plekken voor ons kampf. Na een gezellig avondje rond het kampvuur zijn we lekker gaan slapen. Het was wel koud maar dat mocht zeker de pret niet drukken. Het was een geslaagd weekendje weg. Volgende Bivak weer verder oefenen en misschien wat kilometers in de benen krijgen.
