Wat een opkomst! Het slechte weer trotserend was dit de beste bivak ooit. Ondanks de storm wisten we ons staande te houden. Door het slechte weer was het moeilijk om vuur te maken maar door de bliksem die insloeg naast ons kamp en de vonken die oversloegen konden we vuur maken. Tijdens het koken kwamen er 4 beren op de lekker luchten van ons kookfestijn af en na een uurtje worstelen met deze grote beren dropen ze met hun staart tussen hun benen af. Gelukkig weinig slangen in onze tenten op een pofadder en een bowa constritor na. Jammer dat jullie er niet allemaal bij konden zijn…..

Al met al ben ik niet echt over de opkomst van de bivak te spreken. Misschien denken jullie dat het nog ver van je bed is en denk ik er te moeilijk over maar als ik niet weet wat ik aan iemand heb dan ga ik niet met die persoon op hike. Ik ervaar 20 kilometer met een rugzak van minimaal 15 kilo op mijn rug als heftig. En uit ervaring blijkt dat je hier echt voor moet trainen. Los van 3 dagen overnachten in de middle of nowhere waar je geen stromend water en snackbar tegen zult komen.
